The one thing that might be better than VR

So with the craze going on with the growth of virtual reality and all, I’m here to talk about a better initiative which I think will be more useful and is just as intriguing – AR (Augmented Reality). Think of it as the opposite of Virtual Reality. It makes virtual objects appear in the real world. Now you might think this is absolutely useless but it might surprise you the number of applications that that inventors have found for this feature.

To begin with, AR isn’t as isolating as virtual reality. There’s no need to put on any ridiculous strap on gear to your face and laugh in amusement by yourself while everyone keeps staring at you. All you need is, get this, your mobile phone. Several companies already have phones which support the feature and many companies have already taken this feature into their marketing plan. Such examples include the Dulux paint app which allows you to look at your future house before you have even applied a drop of paint to it. AR also allows you to virtually furnish and decorate your house before you buy actual merchandise as well. As you can easily tell it does wonders when it comes to efficient planning. Save time, energy and many other overhead costs with these simple applications.

Most importantly, using AR is much cheaper. There is not much extra hardware needed to use it and thus is easily integrated with your mobile phone. It will probably one of the biggest innovations of our generation and does a world of good to those who have something to benefit from it.
